NatWest has launched NatWest Venture Banking, a dedicated business focused on supporting high-growth UK companies and the investors behind them, as the bank looks to strengthen its role in the country’s innovation economy.
The new unit is designed to support equity-backed businesses at every stage of growth, from early development to international scale. NatWest said the proposition brings together specialist teams, sector expertise, regional coverage, and flexible capital solutions into a single venture banking platform.
As part of the launch, NatWest also announced a strategic partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS). Through the collaboration, venture banking clients will gain access to AWS’s technical capabilities, network, and sector expertise to help accelerate product development and business scaling.
NatWest Venture Banking will also work closely with venture capital firms and other backers to support portfolio companies, streamline capital flows, and provide dedicated fund banking expertise.
CEO Paul Thwaite said innovation-led businesses are central to the UK’s long-term prosperity, but many founders still face barriers to scaling. Jenny Edwards, Head of NatWest Venture Banking, added that the new business is intended to help high-growth companies become globally competitive and create jobs across the UK.
The launch highlights how major banks are building more specialized offerings for startups and scaleups as demand grows for more integrated financial support across the venture ecosystem.
