Banking Circle Launches Stablecoin Settlement Services Following CASP License Approval
2 min read

Banking Circle has launched a new stablecoin settlement service, expanding its infrastructure at the intersection of traditional banking and digital assets following the approval of its Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP) license from Luxembourg’s CSSF.

The new offering enables fiat-to-stablecoin and stablecoin-to-fiat transactions directly from Banking Circle’s core platform, giving institutions access to faster and more flexible settlement options within a regulated banking framework.

The move comes as stablecoins take on a larger role in global payments, treasury operations, and cross-border settlement. With regulatory clarity improving and institutional adoption rising, Banking Circle is positioning itself to support clients looking to combine blockchain-based payment efficiency with the compliance and control standards of a licensed bank.

The service allows clients to move between fiat currencies and major stablecoins including USDC, USDG, and EURI, with instant settlement and full regulatory traceability. By integrating these capabilities into its core platform, the bank aims to reduce friction in global settlement and support always-on payment flows.

CEO Laust Bertelsen described the CASP approval as an important milestone for both Banking Circle and the wider payments ecosystem, noting that stablecoins are quickly becoming core infrastructure rather than a niche innovation.

Chief Digital Asset Officer Kirit Bhatia added that stablecoins are a natural extension of the bank’s existing infrastructure, which already supports more than 750 payment companies, financial institutions, and marketplaces and facilitates over €1.5 trillion in annual transaction volume.

The launch highlights how regulated financial institutions are moving more decisively into digital asset services as stablecoins become increasingly relevant to the future of cross-border payments.
