Tide, the UK's leading business management platform, has crossed into telecoms territory — becoming the first business banking provider in the world to embed a full mobile plan directly into its app. Built in partnership with Gigs, the embedded connectivity specialist behind Revolut Mobile and global fintechs like Nubank and Klarna, the new product is called Tide Business Phone Number (BPN).
The launch targets Tide's nearly 800,000 UK members — roughly 14% of the entire small business market — who have long been juggling personal and business communications on the same device.
What Tide BPN Offers
The service runs entirely via eSIM, with no extra device or contract required. Members can transfer an existing number or activate a new one directly in the app. Key features include:
Free for Smart, Pro, and Max plan members — unlimited calls and texts with a dedicated business number
£15/month Unlimited Boost plan — adds unlimited 5G data plus 10GB EU roaming
No annual price increases, no credit checks, cancel anytime in-app
Incoming calls clearly display whether they're personal or business lines
Everything — banking, payments, and now telecoms — is managed in one place, on one bill, with no need to deal with multiple providers.
Heather Cobb, UK Managing Director at Tide, said: "Tide BPN is a natural extension of our mission to save small businesses time and money. By bringing business phone numbers directly into the Tide app, we're removing yet another task from their to-do list."
Rafa Plantier, VP Go-To-Market at Gigs, added: "Tide brings together company formation, a business account, and now a mobile plan — helping entrepreneurs get up and running faster and at lower cost than ever before."
The move signals a broader shift in embedded finance, where financial platforms are expanding well beyond payments and credit into the core infrastructure of running a business.
